Mary Ellen Peterson, age 95 of Plymouth passed away on March 17, 2024.
She was born in River Rouge, Michigan on August 12, 1928 to her parents, the late Mary Ada (née Ragen) and Loren R. LaBadie.
Mary lived in River Rouge for the first 18 years of her life. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School and High School. She eventually moved to Dearborn Heights where she resided for the next 62 years. She loved her church and her community. She was a longtime and active member at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and was active in her community. She was a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the Church Choir and also with the Dearborn Chorale. She loved being with people. Mary was outgoing and sociable. She loved to sing and dance.
She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Edward “Ted” Peterson and loving mother of three children – Philip (Terry), Peggy (Gerry) Kustra and Paula (Eric) Nemeth. She is the proud grandmother of Ken, John, Danny, Jennifer, Michael, Thomas, Marc and Maggie; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She is pre-deceased by her sister Lorraine Pearson.
Mary will forever lovingly be remembered by all of her family, friends and all whose life was touched by her.
Friends may visit St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church, 555 South Lilley Road, Canton, Michigan on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor the memory of Mary Ellen Peterson are invited to consider a contribution to Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
Contribution envelopes will be available at the Church.
