Mary Lee Smith of Walled Lake, died July 30, 2018 at the age of 78. She was born in Detroit on May 31, 1940 to Rancie and Bessie (nee Clements) Washam. Mary is survived by her husband Bobby Smith, her four loving children Deacon Ken (Joan) Rasnick, Betty Szarama, Tony (Firyil) Smith and Steve (Shannon) Smith, her cherished grandchildren Andrea (Mario), Erica, Jessica (Jared), Liala (Brett), Adam (Rebekah), Sara, Travis, Lucas, and Alex, her precious great grandchildren Deano, Mia, Farrah, Amellia, Quinn, Cora, Locke, Stella, and two more soon to be great grandsons Enoch and another baby boy, her dear brother Richard Washam, brother-in-law Frank Bartels numerous nieces and nephews, and great granddog Petey. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her son Allen Rasnick, and her sisters Barbara, Betty, and Wilma Jo.
Mary loved to have fun spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing cards, donating to the white orchid slot machine at the casino, watching game shows and westerns, solving crossword puzzles, and definitely made her social media presence known on Facebook. Mary especially loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a sweet and caring woman who will be missed by many. Mary always said her family was everything to her.
A Memorial Gathering will be Thursday, August 2, from 9:30-11:15am at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. Her Memorial Service will immediately follow the gathering at 11:15am at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice.
