Mary Kathryn Russell of Taylor, passed away August 31, at the age of 98. She was born in Mount Carmel, Illinois, to Joseph and Katherine (nee Otto) Kling. Mary is survived by her beloved children Glen (Mary Lou) Russell and Alice (Larry) Centeno, her loving grandchildren Kris (David) Sasaki, Lisa Russell, Jennifer Russell, and Kathy Asbell, her precious great-grandchildren Justin Asbell, Hannah Sasaki, and Kathryn Sasaki, and her siblings Emilia Schuster, Ann Kolhbecker, and Alice Kuehling. Mary was preceded in death by her dear husband Edward Russell, both of her parents Joseph and Josephine Kling, and her brother William Kling.
Mary spent her free time knitting, embroidering, and as a seamstress making clothing for all of her family. She also loved to garden, and cook. Her cakes were always decorated to perfection. She was a big hockey and baseball fan, especially her Detroit Red Wings and Tigers. Mary loved children and volunteered many hours working with blind children. Above all else, Mary loved spending time with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will begin Saturday, September 3, from 10-11am at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. Her Funeral Service will follow the visitation beginning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angela Hospice."
