Epley, Mary Jean passed away April 16, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born May 6, 1927 in Fowlerville, Michigan to Lewis and Ilah (Converse) Hart. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband Samuel in 1995 after 49 years of marriage. She is the beloved mother of Jean (George) Jennings, Becky (Frank) Prince, Susan (Joseph Shepard) Sukup, Randy (Lorna) Epley, Carol (Kyle) Kerkhof, and the late Samuel Epley, his wife Diane survives.She is the dear grandmother of Melissa (Richard) Loiselle, Matthew (Virginia) Jennings, Michael (Michelle) Jennings, Jason (Cara) Jennings, Samuel (Tracey) Epley, Scott Epley, Steven (Anna) Epley, Angela Prince, Alicia (Jack) Schuessler, Travis (Tayler) Stoinoff, Joseph A. C. Sukup, Randy Epley, Caitlin (Sherwood) Breish, Jeremy Epley, Alexandria Epley, Daniel (KayC Strommer) Kerkhof, Jeffrey (Brittany) Kerkhof and the late David Kerkhof. She is also the dearest great grandmother of Andrew, Allison, Nora, Connor, Michaela, George, Lilah, Madeleine, Samantha, Ashley, Amy, Easton, Kaylah and three on the way.
Jean loved being a homemaker to her large family. She was born in Fowlerville and graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1944. She then moved to Westland, Michigan where she lived in the same house for 68 years. She was a member of Newburg United Methodist Church where she was active with the Ladies Circle. Jean loved reading, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. She also loved being at their lake cottage in Brighton, Michigan, where Dad caught the fish and Mom fried them up. Most of all She loved spending time with her family. Jean is loved by many and will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, April 28, 2018, 11AM at Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia, Michigan. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10AM. Mary Jean will be interred next to her beloved husband at Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia, Michigan
