Mary Jane Glover, two weeks shy of 94, passed away on March 14, 2019. She is the beloved wife of 64 years to the late Peter Glover. Mary was the devoted mother of four children; Grace Glover, Jacob (Cynthia) Glover, Donna (Greg) Harvilla and Mary “Libby” (Wes) Booher; proud grandmother of Angela (Cary), Andrea Ezell, Alysia (Bud), Ashton Glover, Jessica (Jacob), Faron (John), and Jake Glover. Great-grandmother of Tony (Michelle), Danielle, Alexandra, Brandon, Josiah, Ryker and great-great grandmother of Nathan and Angel. She leaves behind sister Olga Turko of Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Canada and brother John Zalluski of Alonsa, Manitoba, Canada, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the United States and Canada.
Mary was extremely family oriented, as the ever increasing collection of family photos on her fireplace mantel attests. She loved music and dancing and enjoyed playing the harmonica, accompanying daughter Libby in a duo called the “Merry Mary’s.” They played together at numerous senior centers, having much fun during their numerous years of playing. Prior to that she accompanied her violin playing husband in many community events. Mary loved being outdoors and went for daily walks on her property. She would attend to her vast yard, while her “guard cat” Taffy would watch her every move. Most recently she challenged herself by keeping mentally fit by becoming the Chinese checker champion of Canton, a title given by her family because she whipped all of them the young and not so young. Robust to the end, she was aiming for that 100 year mark that sadly was not to be. Loved and admired by family and friends, she’ll be greatly missed by all- including her constant companion and self-appointed guard, Taffy the cat.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 19th from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth.
