She was the loving and devoted mother of six children – James G. (Mary) Fraser, Donald R. (Mary Ann) Fraser, Scott R. (Jeanne) Fraser, Gregory G. (Leonard Lazich) Fraser, Mary K. (Paul) Kirschbaum and Ellen F. Faybrick; proud grandmother of Jamie Fraser, Alyssa Fraser, Sara (Pierre) Maldonado, Aaron (Heather) Fraser, Robin (Arthur) Thomas, Justin Fraser, Joshua (Chelsea) Fraser, Paul (Hannah) Kirschbaum, Kami Kirschbaum, Anna Faybrick and Jenna Faybrick and great-grandmother of eleven – Nathan, Hannah, Emma, Lia, Kaelyn, Raegan, Morgan, Allyson, Josiah, Jeremiah and James.
In 1948, Mary Ellen and her husband, Jim Fraser, founded and operated Real Life Nursery School & Summer Day Camp in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. It’s now in the third generation.
In 1957, Mary Ellen and Jim also founded the Real Life Children’s Ranch in Okeechobee, Florida. Countless children’s lives were and still are being influenced by this ministry. The Ranch also has third generation board members.
Mary Ellen loved playing the violin, singing in the church choir, and going on many mission trips with the choir. She and Jim ministered often in nursing homes. Mary Ellen would play her violin, while Jim accompanied her on his accordion. They brought joy to the lonely and hurting. They were wonderful examples of serving Christ by serving others. Mary Ellen was a gracious, Godly woman, whose quiet and gentle spirit pointed many to Christ. We are forever grateful that her fingerprint is on our hearts.
