Mary Ellen Fitzpatrick passed away at Glacier Hills in Ann Arbor on Monday, May 25, 2015 at the age of 93. Mary was born in Detroit the daughter of Charles and Ella ( nee McDougall ) Seibert. She graduated from Detroit public schools and it was while she was in school, at the age of 16, she met the man who became the love of her life, Ralph Fitzpatrick. They married in 1940 and shared a marriage lasting 56 years. Ralph passed away in 1996. Mary loved history, all aspects of the history of the United States, the British royal family and anything to do with Ireland. She prided herself at being a homemaker but being a true follower of history she worked as a museum guide at The Henry Ford for a number of years. She is survived by her son Daniel and her adopted Leon family. Mary Ann and Samir and their children. Also surviving are her granddaughter Lori Doe and great grandchildren Chantel, Alexis, Alana and Jeremiah Doe; cousins Lori Gould, Mary Simon, Patti ( Dave ) Saathoff and Mike ( Salli Christenson ) Gould and daughter-in-law Barbara Fitzpatrick. Mary was preceded in death by her son Tyron Fitzpatrick. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 5 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10 am. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband in Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
