Marjorie C. Roderick, age 89 of Palm City, Florida died May 16, 2015 at Walton Woods, Memory Care, in Canton, Michigan. Marjorie was born March 25, 1926, in Detroit, to Edward and Mable Wolf. She attended McKenzie High School. While still in school she became a sales clerk in the Federals Department Store. After graduation, she obtained a clerical position in the Detroit Lubricator Plant in Detroit. On March 7, 1945, she married Paul W. Roderick and they resided for 6 months in Gulfport, Mississippi where Paul was stationed in the Air Force. At the close of WWII, they returned to Detroit. There, they had two children, Sharon Lee (Pete) Krause and Paul "Rick" (Gail) Roderick Jr., who survive, including 4 grandchildren Timothy (Heike) Krause, Michael (Beth) Krause, Casey (Stephanie) Krause and Emma Roderick and 7 great grandchildren Samantha Krause, Mianna Krause, Joey Krause, Jacob Krause, Andrew Krause, Bella Krause and Ava Krause. Marjorie sang in church choirs for 60 years, and was a Presbyterian Deacon, being ordained in 1966 in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Livonia, Michigan, where they resided for 26 years. Later, they relocated to a new home on Green Lake in Interlochen, Michigan. After Paul retired, they moved to Palm City, where she was active in the Telephone Pioneers of America. She also was a volunteer for the Martin Memorial Medical Center for 21 years, working on the front desk and in the Emergency Room. Marjorie and Paul celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past March. She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 11am at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. Friends may visit beginning at 9am.
