Marie Breach of Canton, passed away February 21, 2018, at the age of 82. She was born in Stirling, Ontario, on June 23, 1935, to Alexander and Gertrude McCrory. Marie was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Breach, who passed away in 2004. Marie is lovingly survived by her sons, James (Holly) Breach, David (Emily) Breach and Robert Breach; her precious grandchildren, Natalie, Meredith, Adam, Benjamin, Lauren, Olivia, Riley, Sidney, Bobby, and Jolee; and her dear siblings, John (Barb), Clifford, and Pauline. Marie is preceded in death by both of her parents, and her sisters, Eleanor and Brenda.
Marie left high school in 9th grade to begin working at Northern Telecom. She eventually moved on to work for A & P Supermarkets where she met her husband of 49 years, Arthur. They were married in 1955, and began building a wonderful life together. Marie and Arthur moved from Toronto to Winnipeg, and then back to Toronto, before immigrating to the United States in 1979. They eventually settled in the Detroit area beginning in 1981. She was a homemaker for 25 years raising “her boys.” After they were grown, she pursued and received her High School Diploma in 1987. Marie went on to become a teaching assistant at Plymouth Starkweather, where she helped in the Adult Education Program. She was always an intellectually curious woman who loved her crosswords and pursued a lifetime of learning. Marie also enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and playing cards. She also loved to travel to new places going to France, England, and Hawaii. More than anything, Marie cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be Sunday, February 25, from 12-2:30pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, MI 48170. Her Memorial Service will immediately follow beginning at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
