Passed away at her home in Port Richey, Florida on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the age of 96. Marie was born in Northville, the daughter of William and Mabel ( LaPearl ) Strautz on December 30, 1917. With her family, she resided in Plymouth and attended Plymouth schools. She worked for Daisy Air Rifle, then during World War II, she worked as a " Rosie the Riveter " at the Willow Run Bomber Factory. From 1950 until her retirement in 1978, Marie worked at Burroughs in Plymouth. Marie enjoyed sewing, watching golf and football games. When the family had a cottage at Bass Lake, she did a great deal of fishing. In 1937, Marie married the late Loren Johnson, who was the Assistant Police Chief of Plymouth from 1959 - 1978. Together they shared a marriage lasting 62 years. Loren passed away in 2000. Marie is survived by her daughter, Kay Jones-Case and her husband Jim Case and son, David and his wife, Karen Johnson. Also surviving are grandchildren Richard, Crystal and, Kimberly. Seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and sister, Marilyn Larrabee also survive. Marie was preceded in death by her grandchildren Kelly Jones and Timothy Jones and siblings, Emma Burrell, Helen Alexander, Norma Gearns, William and, Robert Strautz. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Wednesday, July 9th from 9 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. She will be laid to rest along side her husband at Oakland Hills Cemetery in Novi.
