Marian L. Gamble

Marian L. Gamble, known for her dedication and passion in providing years of library services to many as the Director of Genesee District Library, passed away on February 23, 2024. She was born on October 4, 1935 in Flint, Michigan. 

Marian was a compassionate individual who spent many years caring for others, embodying kindness and grace in all aspects of her life. In her retirement years, she found joy in spending time with her family, enjoying live jazz performances, and exploring the beauty of our National Parks.

She is survived by her children, Carol (John) Brockschmidt and Martin (Kim) Gamble, who will miss her dearly. Marian's memory will also be treasured by her grandchildren: Ben (Chelsey Simonovich) Brockschmidt, Emily (Patrick) O'Reilly, Libby Gamble, Dr. Jessie Gamble, DVM, and Sarah Gamble; as well as her cherished great-granddaughter, Nora Brockschmidt.

 Marian L. Gamble was preceded in death by her parents, George H. and Mina Kent (nee Bedell), and her beloved husband, Gary E. Gamble. Additionally, she is survived by her devoted life partner, Thomas Smorch.
