We all have a creative side to us and for Margaret, it was sewing and quilting. She was an excellent seamstress. She gained the simple satisfaction of completing a garment or project that she could be proud of and say, “I made it.” Also, she was an avid quilter. She made complicated quilts and simple quilts, large ones and small ones. She enjoyed choosing the colors and fabric textures and the entire creative process gave her joy and fulfillment. There is a connection between the quilter and the quilt, and when that quilt was given by Margaret as a beautiful, hand-made gift to a family member or friend, they most likely felt that special connection they had to her when receiving a quilt she made especially for them.
