Madonna "Donna" M. Omietanski

Madonna “Donna” M. Omietanski of Dearborn, died December 24, 2019. She was 93 years old. Donna was born in Detroit to Francis and Eileen (nee O’Connor) Dougherty. She was the beloved wife of the late Chester Omietanski. Donna is survived by her three loving children Nancy (Joseph) Jakubik, Daniel (Connie) Omietanski, and James (Joan) Omietanski, her three cherished grandkids Jordan (Nicole) Jakubik, Jillian Jakubik, and Madelyn Omietanski, and her dear sister Margaret “Peggy” (the late Mike) Petlichkoff. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her sisters Patricia Janik and Joanne Dougherty.

Donna was a lifelong resident of Dearborn, a graduate of St. Alphonsus High School, a proud Irish woman, and a devout Catholic. Donna married Chester and they welcomed three children into the world. Later in life, Donna began her career in the medical field where she worked for more than 20 years before retiring from Oakwood Hospital. While she took pleasure in her work, nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends. Donna was proudly devoted to her kids and grandkids, never missing a sporting event or dance recital throughout the years. When not with her family, she loved to garden and treasured the compliments given to her about her flowers. She was fiercely independent all her 93 years and those lucky enough to know her are forever blessed. “Mrs. O” is truly an angel that walked this earth.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27, from 3-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, MI 48170. There will be a Rosary Service, Friday, at 7pm. Her Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, December 28, at 10am at St. Alphonsus-St. Clement Parish, 13540 Gould St., Dearborn, MI 48126. Family and friends may begin visiting the Church at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capuchins Soup Kitchen, or a charity of your choice.
