Lucille Allen, age 97 of Waters, Michigan passed away on June 2, 2021.
Lucille was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 28, 1923 to her parents, Samuel and Augusta (née Shook) Pierce. She is the beloved wife of the late Bobbie L. Allen. They were married for 40 years. Bobbie passed away April 25, 2015. She is the beloved mother of Lucille (Michael) Smith, Georgette (Jimmie) Oliver, the late LeRoy and John; proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Lucille loved to travel and had many exciting travel experiences. She enjoyed seeing and learning about the local history at each destination. She loved meeting people and coming home with many great stories about her travels.
Lucille was employed with Burroughs Corporation located on Plymouth Road in Plymouth. Burroughs was a major manufacturer of business equipment and well known locally and worldwide. Lucille’s position gained her the experience of learning about and working on circuit boards.
She had a deep appreciation of nature. She was attracted to the beauty of birds and animals. The four seasons of Michigan provided Lucille such a breathtaking outdoor environment full of magic and wonder. Perhaps that it was her love of nature combined with the enjoyment of the game of golf on a beautiful day with friends that made the whole experience so enjoyable for her. She loved socializing and staying in contact with her friends. There was nothing better than playing a round of golf on a beautiful day in Florida’s sunshine.
Lucille was an amazing woman. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all those whose life was touched by her.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. Attendees may begin arriving at 12:30 P.M.
