Louise Schroeder passed away at her home with her family beside her on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the age of 85. Louise was born in Detroit, on March 29, 1926, the daughter of James and Helen Edwards. On May 21, 1947, she married her husband, Donald, and together they shared 64 years of married life. Donald and Louise made their home in Plymouth, and together they raised three sons. Louise loved to garden and travel, especially trips to Cadillac. But her happiest times were spent with her family. Over the years she and Donald shared a membership at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth.
Louise is survived by her husband, Donald, and sons, Donald Jr., Gary (Ellen) and Jeffrey ( Lori) Schroeder. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Anne Schroeder, Nathan (Ingrid) Schroeder, Teri (Ben) Elder and Dayna (Chad) Chelsea; and great grandchildren, Levi, Bernadette, Greta and Amelia. Louise is also survived by her sisters, Jesse Schaufele and Priscilla Campbell.
Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, on Wednesday from 3pm - 9pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10am until time of the funeral service at 11am at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1343 Penniman, Plymouth, with Pastor Paul Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
