Lorraine M. Lanzon

Lorraine M. Lanzon passed away at Superior Woods Nursing Home in Ypsilanti on February 4, 2013 at the age of 85. Lorraine was born in Detroit, the daughter of Alexander and Stephanie Jamiolkowski on December 19, 1927. She attended Mercy College of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing degree in the late 1940's. She worked in various nursing homes in the metropolitan area and also did private duty nursing. She was a resident of Garden City and attended St. Dunstan Catholic Church. Lorraine enjoyed writing and poetry. Traveling, watching travel shows and documentary programs were her special hobbies. She was a " news junkie. " The nursing home staff stated she had great happiness when children came to visit at Superior Woods where she has been a resident since 2007. She is survived by her children Karen Lanzon, Cheryl Nowak and Craig Lanzon. She is also survived by four grandchildren, one great grandson and niece and nephew Madge and Dale Skifstrom. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Lucy and other siblings Mary, Wallace and Pauline. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday May 10, 2013, 10:30am at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church, 1515 Belton Rd., Garden City.
