Lore Rose, of Canton, died February 15, 2018, at the age of 97. She was born in Germany, to her late parents William and Auguste (nee Piontek) Mallek. Lore was the beloved wife of the late George for 62 years. Lore is survived by her loving children, Kathleen (Leo) Matusik, William (Mary) Rose, and David (Michelle) Rose, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Lore met George on a train in California during World War II. They fell in love and began raising their beloved children. She was a founding member at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Detroit. Lore was always very active in volunteering at the Church. Lore was also a great cook who was known for her lasagna. She would enjoy her trips back to Germany and collecting Hummels every year.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, from 2-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. Her Funeral Service will be Monday, February 19, at 11am at the funeral home. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10am. She will be interred at Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
