Passed away on November 30, 2016 at Medilodge in Plymouth at the age of 91. Linwood was born at home in Plymouth Township on April 15, 1925 the son of Walter and Hazel ( nee Klatt ) Dethloff. He attended Plymouth schools graduating from Plymouth High School in 1943. Upon graduation Linwood joined the United States Navy serving in the Pacific aboard the battleship USS Mississippi. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1946 and returned to Plymouth. He worked for a while at the Ford Motor Value Plant located in Northville until starting his career in banking. He worked for various branches of the form National Bank of Detroit ending his career with them in 1986 as a branch manager. Linwood enjoyed activities around water including boating and fishing. In 1949 he married and Betty Jean became his soul mate until her passing in 1982. In 1992 he married again and Clara remained his wife until her passing in 2008. Linwood is survived by his sons David ( Jishen Wang ) Dethloff and Kevin Dethloff, Two sons preceded him in death, Gary in 1994 and Keith in 2008. Four grandchildren, Janiece, Lance, Jason and Shawn also survive. Keith's wife Cindy also survives.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 1 pm until the time of the memorial service at 2 pm. Later his remains will be interred beside Betty in Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth.
