Leora Dorothy Norgrove

April 22, 1916 — September 29, 2014

Leora Norgrove passed away at Wynwood of Northville on September 29, 2014 at the age of 98. Leora was born in Temperance, Michigan on April 22, 1916 the daughter of Ernest and Cora ( nee Cook ) Lietzke. In 1938 the family moved to Plymouth and she has remained a Plymouth resident her entire life. Leora was active in many organization in Plymouth including the Council on Aging, the Plymouth Historical Museum and FISH, an organization to help transport those in need. She was also deeply involved with her church, 1st Presbyterian Church of Plymouth where she was active in various committees and volunteered to the church's Thrift Shop. At various times she has been awarded by the Plymouth community for her volunteer service. Her beloved husband Herbert H. Norgrove preceded her in death in 1990 and she is survived by her children Herbert " Ron " ( Jean ) Norgrove and Lynda Plotinski. Also surviving our her grandchildren,, Janet Sapienza, Michael ( Lori ) Norgrove, Thomas ( Kristina ) Plotinski and Rachel Plotinski and great grandchildren Haley, Madeline, Logan, Zachary, Justin and Victoria and sister Ruth Meyers. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Thursday, October 2, 2014, from 3 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 am at the funeral home with the Reverend Dr. James Skimins of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Plymouth officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth. Contributions are suggested to the church or the American Heart Association.
