Leonard Hoyer passed away at Providence Park Hospital in Novi, on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the age of 70. Leonard was born in Detroit, on December 13, 1941, to Leonard K. and Rose (Mihelich) Hoyer. He served with the United States Army from 1961 thru 1963, and part of that time he was stationed in Germany. In 1970, he married Jeannie, nee Krumm, and together they shared 41 years of married life. Leonard worked for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2002, after 25 years of service as a Program Analyst. Leonard, along with his wife, loved to travel - especially on cruises. His other interests were woodworking, playing all types of card games, and trying his luck at the casinos.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Jeannie, and sons, David (Shannon) and Steven (Jennifer) Hoyer. Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Joseph, Molly, Ryan, Haley, Kayla, Deanna and Anthony, and his brother, Douglas (Sharron) Hoyer.
Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, on Saturday, January 7, 2012, from 5pm until 9pm and Sunday from 12 noon until 9pm. Funeral services will follow on Monday from the funeral home at 1pm with the Reverend Drex Morton officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
