Leon Chick, age 81 of Northville, Michigan passed away on March 11, 2021.
He was born in Crete, Greece on August 13, 1939 to his parents, Steven and Sophia (née Krasakis) Chick. For the past 57 years, he is the beloved and devoted husband of Lorraine; loving father of two children – John Chick and Paul (Mary) Chick, and proud grandfather of Evan and Allison. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brother, John (Katina) Chick.
Leon was a legendary figure in the world of Advertising Production in Detroit. His profession was a dream job. He worked closely with the Detroit Advertising Agencies in every step of the process and became a leader in the industry. Leon loved his work and he thrived in it. He was high-energy, he knew all of the key players in the advertising business, and his hard work proved to be rewarding. There were not too many advertising campaigns or television commercials in the Detroit area that Leon didn’t play a part in.
He loved his dear wife, Lorraine, his children and grandchildren to the moon and back. He lived a full life and appreciated everything life had to offer. His high-energy carried on into his retirement years as he lived with love for everything he did and for everyone in his life.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date this year when COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org or make checks payable to JDRF, P. O. Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037-0920. Juvenile diabetes is something that has affected his grandson and he was passionate about curing.
Leon will be laid to rest at a private committal service at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan.
