Lavern A. Roberts passed away on August 23, 2023. He was born on March 25, 1932 in Ruth, Michigan to his parents August and Mary Roberts.
Lavern leaves behind his wife Ernestine of over 70 years, their timeless love inspired all those around them and set an example for generations to come.
Lavern leaves behind his daughter Lisa (Thomas) Karsnick and is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey August Roberts. He also had the joy of being a cherished grandparent to Kaylie (Andrew) Siwicki, Skyla Karsnick, and Kara Roberts.
Lavern Roberts is survived by his sisters Dolores Hunsanger and Mary Louks. Lavern's extended family, includes numerous nieces and nephews, who also mourns his loss.
Lavern was known for his remarkable career with the CSX Railroad. He dedicated many years of his life to the company. In addition to his professional achievements, Lavern served in the United States Army. His remarkable military service showcased his bravery and selflessness.
He had a passion for woodworking. His skillful craftsmanship brought joy to those who witnessed the beauty of his creations. Gardening, particularly tending to flowers, and playing cards was another one of Lavern's beloved hobbies. He was a true gentleman that always put his family first, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
A Memorial Gathering in honor of Lavern's life will be held on Wednesday September 27, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, Michigan.
On Thursday September 28, 2023, a visitation will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth, Michigan at 10:30 A.M. This will be followed by Mass from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the same location.
Graveside cemetery service with full military honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, MI following the Mass.
