Laura Virginia Olesky

Laura Olesky passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia at the age of 90. Laura was born in Detroit on April 30, 1923 the daughter of John and Sophia Lewalski. She attended Detroit Public Schools graduating from Pershing High School. She married William Olesky who passed away in 1992. Laura was a great cook and baker and loved to shop. She was active in bowling leagues and also golfing. She had a " Hole-in-One " at Warren Valley Golf Course and was on a golf league at Bonnie Brook Golf Course. As her daughter Patricia stated her mother was quite active and she " never knew where she was. " Laura has resided in the Livonia area for quite a while and attended St. Colette Catholic Church. She is survived by her children Patricia ( Nicholas ) Morakeas, William ( Colleen ) Olesky, Thomas ( April ) Olesky, Larry ( Kathy ) Olesky, Theresa Lynn ( Wayne ) Tyge, David ( Marilyn ) Olesky and Michael ( Christine ) Olesky. Nineteen grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and siblings John, Florence and Leona also survive. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 1 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. A Rosary will be said at 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 10 am at St. Colette Catholic Church, 17600 Newburgh Road, Livonia. Father Harry Roodbeen will officiate. Interment will follow at United Memorial Gardens.
