Lance Copeland passed away July 12, 2017 in Redford, Michigan surrounded by family. He was born June 27, 1954 to Leola Dawson and George W Copeland.
Lance had recently moved to Redford, MI to spend time with his daughter and his grandchildren before his untimely passing. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a gifted musician. Whenever you saw Lance, he always had a set of drum sticks in his pocket. As an active member of many churches, he could be found performing during services and teaching drum lessons to the youth.
Lance is survived by his daughters, Nadia Wall of Evansville, IN, Elexiea Stokes of Redford, MI, brother, Benjamin Copeland of Evansville, IN and his significant other, Yvette Taylor of Redford, MI. Grandchildren Allante’ Johnson, Bj Johnson and Carron Johnson of Evansville, IN and Lexus Stokes, Deja Stokes and Kenneth Stokes of Redford, MI and a host of nieces, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22nd from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. After visitation hours, a funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m.
Lance will be laid to rest on Tuesday, July 25th at 11:30 a.m. with Military Honors at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
