Kevin Barbour, age 59 of Westland, passed away on May 31, 2019. Born in Detroit on July 17, 1959 to the late John & Lucille Barbour. Survived by his three loving children; Keith Barbour, Lauren Barbour and Jacquelyn Barbour. Cherished brother of Beverly (Roger) Preville, Richard Barbour, Carol (Larry) Brady, Jim (Lynn) Barbour, Mary Ganci, Lawrence Barbour, Denise (Paul) Regoni and John (Cherie) Barbour. Preceded in death by brothers Mike and Mark Barbour. Also survived by sister-in-law’s Judy and Rose Barbour.
Kevin attended Mother of Our Savior grade school and graduated from St. Mary's of Redford in Detroit. He worked at Ford Motor Company for 31 years, where he was a journeyman for 25 years. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 900. Kevin was an avid sports fan of all things Detroit. He loved watching his beloved Detroit Lions in the fall, Detroit Tigers in the summer and Detroit Red Wings in the winter. Being a hockey player himself, he taught his children to skate on the ice rinks he made each year in their backyard. Nothing made him happier than to be with his children and watch them learn new things. Kevin loved the outdoors and every fall meant the start of hunting season. Kevin also had a passion for billiards; in fact, he enjoyed it so much that he created the Pacific Coast Pool League during his Hermosa Beach, CA days. Kevin also enjoyed watching movies, from the classics to westerns and everything in between. Perhaps that helped him to be an expert storyteller; life never sounded so exciting as when he recounted it. Kevin was gregarious and never met a stranger. His great gift in life was being blessed with three amazing children. He was incredibly proud he was of each one of them and bragged about them every chance he got. Kevin touched so many lives and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
