Keith R. Boyd

February 21, 1941 — April 16, 2017

Born February 21, 1941 in Titusville, PA. He was the son of the late Jack R. Boyd and Isabell Cotherman Boyd. While still in school, Keith married his high school sweetheart Mary Lou Oliver Boyd on October 9, 1965. They were fortunate to have celebrated 51 happy years of marriage. Together they were blessed with two loving children: Bradley Oliver Boyd and Natalie Goebel. Proud grandfather of Logan & Brayden Goebel.

He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Boyd, his in-laws Stephen and Lucy Oliver and his son-in-law, Joel Goebel. He is survived by his nieces Doris Jean Kahle (Jeff) and Jacquline Barber (Michael) of PA and his brother-in-law Tom Oliver (Noreen) and their children Megan Dill (Andrew) and Ashley Calabro (Brian) of Columbus, OH

Keith's early years were spent in the Oil City/Seneca, PA area, where he was active in sports. He was a 1959 graduate of Cranberry High School. Mr. Boyd was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1961 to 1963, with final assignment in Bremerhaven, Germany. Upon returning home, he enrolled in Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh, PA graduating with a degree in Accounting/Marketing.

He began his career with Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio, spending five years there. He then relocated to Marathon Operations in Detroit for the remainder of his 30 year Marathon career.

Following their retirement they were "snow birds" for sixteen years at their condo in St. Petersburg, Florida. There he enjoyed golf, walking the beach and their many wonderful friends. He loved watching his favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers with friends in both Michigan and Florida. Reading was always one of his passions and in later years he became a great cook and loved to collect cookbooks.

Keith's major focus throughout his lifetime was his wife, children and grandchildren. He was always positive, upbeat and encouraging. He had many friends of different walks of life. He was loved by all. His motto to his family was: "If something seems unsurmountable, it can only get better."
