Keith Patrick Torp passed away at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor on Friday, July 15, 2016, at age 59. Keith was born in Mount Clemens on September 23, 1956 the son of Allan J. and Margaret J. Torp. He attended East Detroit Public Schools, graduating from East Detroit High School in 1974. While in high school he played on the high school football team, ran track and was a member of the National Honor Society. Keith attended Eastern Michigan University as well as Cleary College where he obtained his B.A. degree. Upon graduation he entered the emerging robotics industry and worked in sales for over thirty years. He was currently serving as the Director of Sales for Auto Component and Industrial Paint at Fanuc America. Keith was a gourmet cook and a connoisseur of wine. He loved playing golf, camping in Michigan State Parks, boating on Lake St. Clair, University of Michigan football, basketball and vacationing in Naples, Florida. Keith is survived by his beloved wife Chris and children Russ and Kendall Torp. He also leaves behind his devoted parents Allan and Margaret Torp and dearest siblings Allan and Traci Torp. In addition he leaves behind his former wife and beloved friend Maria (Tom) Piotrowski; his brother-in-law Jon (Lizzy) Coutts and sister-in-law Ursula Torp along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 2 pm until 8 pm and will continue on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 2 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the University of Michigan Health System, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or Gift of Life, Michigan Chapter.
