Katherine Meloff, age 71 of Plymouth, suddenly passed away from this mortal life Monday, February 10, 2020 after a protracted recovery from a surgical procedure. Katherine is survived by her nephew Louis Meloff.
Kathy was a people person, she loved being around people, loved meeting new people, and finding out about their family histories. She enjoyed learning about the different languages they spoke. Kathy was a natural born linguist, she carried this no matter where she was, whether she was a at a restaurant conversing with a waitress, at the checkout lane in Kroger, or helping one of her customers at the bank. She genuinely cared about people, and that interest was palpable to all.
For those who knew her, Kathy was a hard and conscientious worker all of her life. She first worked at Hudson's and lastly at TCF Bank. Accuracy was everything to her right down to the penny. Frugal, she was known to gently tuck away a lonely kalamata olive in the fridge at work. Kathy was a pistol. Quick in thought, fast for a comeback, and ready to challenge and slay any dragon that got in her way. A feisty characterization would be an understatement.
Visitation will be Friday, February 21, at St. Clement Ohridski Eastern Orthodox Church, 19600 Ford Rd. Dearborn, MI 48128 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Funeral Service will immediately begin following the visitation at 11:00 AM.
To all who knew her, we will miss you Kathy and somehow life will be a little more boring without you. May you rest in peace.
