Josephine Rose Salamone passed away May 29, 2014 at the age of 89. She was born April 21, 1925 in Detroit to James and Rose (Bacarella) Coraci. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael in 2005. She is the dear mother of Mary Rose (David) Peck, Cecelia (Jack Brisbin) Salamone and Michael (Phyllis) Salamone and grandmother of Brian (Jessica) Peck, Eric (Tracy) Peck, Kim (Edward) Gorenz, Alexandra Salamone, Lisa (Scott) Crummel, Stephanie (Brian) Hicks and the late Ryan Reist. Also surviving are 15 great grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Hazel (William) Trombly and aunt of Thelma Thayer-Sibley and Roseann (Carl) Davis. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cecilia Coraci and Thomas Coraci. Jo and her husband, Michael, were blessed with 60 years of marriage. They appreciated many summers at their cottage in Lexington with friends and family. Jo enjoyed 30 years as a lunch aide at Hull school in Livonia. Jo and Michael liked to travel - cruises and Las Vegas usually topped the list. Family was important - gave them joy. A major part of their life was faith. As devout Catholics, their religion was of utmost importance to them. A Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, June 5, 2014, 10:30am at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N. Haggerty Rd., Plymouth. Friends may visit Wednesday 2pm until 8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, and Thursday at church beginning at 10am until time of mass.
