Josephine Madonia passed away February 26, 2015 at the age of 84. She was born in Detroit May 28, 1930 to Sam and Angeline (Palazollo) Ponzio. Josephine's beloved husband of 65 years, Joseph, passed away in July 2014. She is survived by her sons Jack (Theresa) Madonia and Joseph (Bonnie) Madonia, her granddaughter Kimberly (Adam Peruski-Smith) Madonia and her brother Bruce Ferris. Josephine was born in Detroit and lived her life in the Detroit area. She worked part time most of her life beginning at age 12 and retiring at age 60. Among her various jobs were working at a pizzeria, a drug store and at Chrunchy Potato Chips in the 40's. Both Josephine and her husband tried to keep their Italian heritage alive. Josephine loved to cook, especially Italian, and made sure everyone got fed. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casinos, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is deeply loved and will be missed. Friends may visit Wednesday, March 4, 2015, 2pm until 8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. A Funeral Service will take place Wednesday at 6pm with Fr. Thomas Belczak officiating. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 900 Cooper Street, Jackson, MI 49202. Contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Private interment will take place at South Lyon Cemetery, South Lyon, Michigan
