Joseph Nicholas Wallet passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the age of 85. Joe was born in Ecorse, Michigan the son of Nicholas and Rose Wallet on May 6, 1930. He attended elementary school in Detroit and graduated from Henry Ford Trade school in Dearborn. He received his B.A. and Masters of Arts from Central Michigan University. Beginning in 1950, Joe proudly served six years in the Michigan National Guard. Joe worked as a District Manager for the John Fluke Manufacturing Company, a digital measurement equipment company, retiring in 1989. Joe loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Tigers and Red Wings. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Patrick O'Kelly Council of Dearborn. Joe was an avid fisherman and loved to be up north in Roscommon at his cabin. But foremost in his life was his family. In 1949 he met Dorothy who in 1951 became his beloved wife and together they shared a marriage of 64 years. The family resided in Detroit, then Redford finally settling in Plymouth since 1977. Joe is survived by his wife and his two daughters, Sheryl ( Larry ) Eichstadt and Kimberly Wallet, PhD. Also surviving are his son-in-law Daniel ( Kathy ) Wach, grandson Brian Eichstadt and many nieces and nephews. Joe was the last of nine siblings, four brothers and four sisters and was preceded in death by his second daughter Gale Wach. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, May 29, 2015, from 2 pm until 9 pm. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road ( at Beck ) Plymouth.
