John G. Peterson

John G. Peterson passed away at Angela Hospice in Livonia on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the age of 68. John was born in Dearborn, Michigan the son of William and Mary ( nee Len ) Peterson on June 17, 1946. John graduated from St. Andrews High School in Detroit and continued his education at Henry Ford Community College and the University of Wisconsin School of Banking. He had also served with the United States Army. John worked for the former Manufacturers Bank then Comerica Bank as a vice president of information systems. He retired in 2009 after 38 years of devoted service. In 1970 he met the former Nancy J. Madej and in 1972 they married. John enjoyed gardening and traveling both in the states and in foreign lands. He also had a deep interest in vintage cars, Mustangs in particular, owning a 1999 Mustang Cobra. John is survived by his wife and brother Richard ( Ellen ) Peterson. Also surviving are his sister-in-law Diane ( Michael ) Berry and niece Laura Berry and special friends Thomas and Mary Taylor. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015, from 2 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10 am until the time of the funeral mass, 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road (at Beck road ) Plymouth. Later he will be laid to rest at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights.
