John E. Stuart passed away at Henry Ford Village on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the age of 87. John was born in Detroit, the son of John and Martha ( Hellmuth ) Stuart. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Wayne State University and began work on his PhD at the University of Wisconsin. He taught in the various junior high schools within the Detroit Public School system retiring in 1982. Toward the end of World War II he served with the United States Navy. John was an avid reader and a student of theology. In 1954 he married Jacqueline Miller and together they shared 58 years of life together. John is survived by his wife and children John Stuart and Barbara ( Gregory ) Ciolek. He is also survived by his grandson Christopher Ciolek and sister Erma ( Gilbert ) Cook. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013, 2pm at Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia.
