Joan L. Hetkowski

Joan Hetkowski passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital on January 21, 2013 at the age of 80. Joan was born in Detroit on January 10, 1933 the daughter of Alfred P. and Marjorie A. ( Curtis ) Stouder. She graduated from Pershing High School where she had met her husband to be, Bruno D. Hetkowski, Jr. They married in 1951 and last year celebrated 61 years as a couple. After raising her children she entered the real estate buisness as an agent working for Real Estate One in Plymouth. She enjoyed collecting family photographs and shopping but foremost to her was her family. She is survived by her husband and children Del ( Sherry ) Hetkowski, Ellen ( John ) Duca, John ( Valerie ) Hetkowski and Steven Hetkowski. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, Aaron, Holly, Nick, Mark, Timothy, Scott, Alex, Ryan, Kelly, Zack, Tyler and John and six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Suzette, David and Timothy. She was preceded in death by her children Cheryl Thiele and Mark Hetkowski, grandson Keith Davis and brother Keith Stouder. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 pm until 9 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 11:30 am until time of the funeral mass at 12 noon at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 44800 Warren Road. Canton.
