Jean Emiline Bennett

May 2, 1910 — January 19, 2011

Passed away January 19, 2011 at the age of 100. Long time resident of Livonia, MI. Born May 2, 1910 in East Seneca, Ontario, Canada the daughter of Etna D. and Ada L. (Attridge) MacDonald. She meet and married her husband Jesse of 61 years in 1933 He passed away in 1994. She began teaching in Canada and continue after moving to the United States in 1936. In 1959 she earned her B.S degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught at Garfield Elementary in Livonia retiring in 1970. She was a member of Newburg United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the Livonia Historical Society, serving as a guide at Greenmeade. Her other memberships included the Plymouth, later the Nankin Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star, the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel and the Riverside Book Club.

Surviving her our her children Graham ( Nancy) Bennett and Donna (Ralph) Naidow, grandchildren Steven Bennett, Ann Bennett, Jodi (Michael) Michela, Kristyn (Mark) Callebs and Scott (Nikkie) Naidow. Also surviving are her great grandchildren Nicholas and Rebecca Michela, Katelyn, James, Miranda and Abbigail Callebs and her latest blessing Maecyn Blu Naidow. Two grandchildren Michael Naidow and Hannah Michela preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 6pm - 9pm and Sunday 4pm - 9pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10am until time of the funeral service at 11 am from Newburg United Methodist Church, 36500 Ann Arbor Trail, Livonia with the Reverend Marsha H. Woolley officating. She will be intered beside her husband at Glen Eden Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the church.
