Janet Joyce Hamlin

Janet Joyce Hamlin was born on August 9, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away on December 28, 2024, in Howell, Michigan after a long illness. Janet is survived by her three children, Dawn (Robert) Middendorff, Stacey Hamlin (Matt McNamara) and Cynthia (Duane) Morris. She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren, Carlie Morris and Hannah Morris, who brought her great joy. Janet's family also includes her sister, Patricia Coleman, sisters in law Sally (Dave), Anne and MaryJo and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Throughout her life, Janet was a vibrant soul whose energy inspired those around her. She had a passion for various hobbies that allowed her to express her creativity and engage with others. Janet cherished her time spent quilting, a craft that brought her immense joy. Whether she was playing cards, participating in water aerobics, swinging a club on the golf course, she always approached life with an infectious enthusiasm. Janet's love for travel also enriched her experiences, creating lasting memories with her family and friends.

Janet was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard "Dick" Stanley Hamlin, who was a significant part of her life journey. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Helga (Motzkus) Liggett, and her brother, Timothy Liggett. Janet's memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her, as she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and passion for life. Her spirited presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends alike.

Janet’s daughters and their families would like to thank all their friends and family, and those of Jan’s, who loved their Mom so very much. You strengthened us during this hard year. 

There will be a Celebration of Life to be held in the Spring of 2025. The date, place, and time will be announced when the plans are finalized.
