James O. Anthony passed away March 21, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born December 7, 1926 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Earl Edward Anthony and Frances Carletta(Waugh)Anthony. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn and son Steve. James is survived by children Larry Anthony, Janet(Troy)Ellis, Ron(Barbara)Meyers and Steve(Sue)Meyers, grandchildren Richard Anthony, Daniel Anthony, Catherine Anthony, Joseph(Shannon)Oprisiu, Ryan Oprisiu, Josephine Ellis, John Ellis, David Ellis, Kathy(John)Toss and Debbie(James)Jackson and great grandchildren Carter, Emalee, Ashley and Ryan. He is also survived by his sister Lois Finney. James worked for the Packard Motor Company for a short while prior to joining Chrysler Corporation and then he moved on to work at Ford Motor Company. He worked at Ford for 26 years as an engineer prior to his retirement in the early eighties. He lived in the Plymouth area since 1980 but had also lived in Dearborn, Livonia, Pennsylvania and California. James earned his Bachelor Degree from Indiana Tech. He was very active in the Shriners and the Jesters(an elite group of Shriners). He loved playing the saxophone in the Shriners Band and had also played in the Plymouth Band. James also played the piano and the organ. He was also an avid golfer having made a hole in one at one time. James always loved spending time with his family. He will be missed. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 24, 2014, 1pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth where visitation will be Sunday from 12noon until 5pm. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Alzheimers(Dementia)Association at alz.org
