James Lewis Cooper, of Plymouth, passed away surrounded by his family November 3, 2016, at the age of 67. He was born in Ann Arbor, MI to Gerald and Ernestine (nee Robinson) Cooper. James is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sharon (nee Bilski) Cooper, his two loving daughters Lainie Cooper Gardner and Colleen (Matthew) Kunka, and his three precious grandchildren Dane, Jason James, and Presley Gardner. James was preceded in death by both of his parents.
James proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Air Force. He worked for the post office since 1978. James was an avid collector of coins and Civil War artifacts. He also had a '68 Ford Mustang that he loved to take out with Sharon, and they always enjoyed going to the Woodward Dream Cruise together. He would love taking his grandchildren to watch the trains. He was so proud of his grandchildren and whole family. James was a wonderful man, father, and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Monday, November 7, from 3-9pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, 48170. His Funeral Service will be Tuesday, November 8, at 12 noon at the funeral home. Family and friends may begin visiting at 11am.
