James Harold French passed away August 22, 2023 at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Detroit on August 13, 1944 to Duane Lee and Dorothy (McClurkin) French. James was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn, his daughter Sharon and great granddaughter Audrey. He is deeply loved and is survived by his daughter Theresa (Brian) Miller. He is the proud grandfather of Amanda (Don) Haggitt, Timothy (Marie) Barlow, Derek (Miranda) Barlow, Brandon (Emily) Moss, Lindsay Moss, Tyler (Savannah) Barlow, Brandon Miller, Austin Miller and Kerry Chase. James is also survived by his great-grandchildren Kaiden, Dalton, Lexi, Aleigha, Benjamin, Julia, Jayden, Grant, Theodore, Xavier, Lilliana, Khori, Sophie, Eleanor, Finn, Joseph, Eli, Lacey and Cooper.
James retired from the Ford Motor Company 12 years ago. He gave 42 years of service to Ford Motor having worked in Dearborn and Milan. He was a resident of Belleville for 1 year after having lived in Plymouth since the 60’s. He had a passion for breeding fish and taking care of his aquariums. He also loved cars and Tim Horton’s. He is loved by many including his large family. He will be missed.
A Graveside Service will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11AM.
