James Edward Eppley Jr. of Gladwin, MI passed away January 4, 2017, at the age of 73. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan, on March 7, 1943, to James and Elizabeth (Gogoiak) Eppley Sr. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary Anne (Cacicedo), his 3 loving children Anita Eppley, Jeremy (Gabriela) Eppley, and Timothy (Katie) Eppley, his 3 dear grandchildren Alexander Eppley, Benjamin Eppley, and Lisa (Philip) Nulph, his 2 precious great grandchildren Hudson and Camden Nulph, and his dear sister Linda Walton. Jim was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Jim worked many years for Detroit Edison Company. He was also a very active community service member and was on the board for Growth Works. Jim loved his family and enjoyed being with his children especially going to their sports games. He also enjoyed traveling and researching the family genealogy. Jim was a long time member at both St. John Neumann and Our Lady of Good Counsel before moving to Gladwin. He also enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles. Jim was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main, Plymouth, 48170 with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, at 12:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 N. Territorial, Plymouth, 48170. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Growth Works Inc. or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home. or to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen Development Office 1820 Mount Elliott Street Detroit, MI 48207.
