James Alan Simescu passed away September 15, 2018 at the age of 64. He was born January 31, 1954 to Eugene M. and Nancy R. ( Richardson ) Simescu. He is the beloved brother of Barry ( Dorothy ) Simescu and William Simescu, and dear uncle of Dan, Tyler, Will and Layne.
James graduated from Thurston High School in Redford. He then went on to graduate from Michigan State University with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. James was a resident of California for the past 40 years where he managed Lawry’s Five Crowns restaurant in Corona Del Mar, California for over 20 years. He then went on to work at Wells Fargo Mortgage Company in Newport Beach. Yet, while he managed a fine restaurant for many years, when James returned home to Michigan he would be sure to visit one of his favorite places, White Castle hamburgers. While James loved cooking, he was also an avid mountain biker, skier and hiker. He enjoyed his yearly trip to Clear Lake, in Michigan, to the family summer cottage that he helped build. When there, he was always busy with painting projects, trimming trees or other various chores. James is deeply loved and will be missed by many.
