Hugo R. Hilken

Hugo R. Hilken, age 80 of Woodhaven passed away on August 15, 2016.

Hugo was born in Hagen, Germany on May 20, 1936 to his parents, Hugo F. and Hildegard O. (nee Fuss) Hilken. In 1955, he moved to the United States. He is the beloved husband of the late Barbara Elaine. They were married on February 27, 1965 for 49 years. Barbara passed away on February 14, 2015 – less than two weeks away from their 50th wedding anniversary.

Hugo is the loving and devoted father of three daughters, Dawn Hilken, Karlene (Todd) Hamilton, and Christine (Paul) Sawicki. Very proud Grandfather of Erika (Mike) Spencer, Sean (Maegan) Degler, Samantha (Josh) Spencer, Samantha Jo Hamilton, T.J. (Kelsey) Hamilton, Tyler Hamilton, Jeff (Angela) Sawicki, Maegan Sawicki, Haylee Jackson, and Johnathon Sawicki; Great-Grandfather of Trey, Aubrey, Arianna, Ava, Lukas, Elliott, Gavin, Brooklyn, Logan, Sophia, Thomas and Maria. Dearest brother of Werner Hilken. He is also survived by numerous extended family members who still reside in Germany.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main St., Plymouth on Thursday, August 18th from 4pm to 9pm. There will be a rosary at 7pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 19th at 10am until the time of the 10:30am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth. There will
be a private burial service.
