Gladys Ann Gyorke

Passed away at her home on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at the age of 88. Gladys was born in Detroit, the daughter of John and Catherine (Brush) Powers, on October 21, 1922. Her joy and happiness was tending to her husband and her four sons. After her husband's death, she went to work at St. Mary Mercy Hospital as a Dietary Supervisor. She retired from the hospital in 1992.

She is survived by her three sons, Robert, Timothy and Thomas (Linda) Gyorke. Her son Richard passed away in 2007, and she is also survived by Richard's wife, Mary. Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and a sister, Donna (John) Moser, also survive.

Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1pm until 9pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road at Beck Road, Plymouth, with Father Charles White officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. Contributions are suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1421 East 12 Mile Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
