Passed away at the University of Michigan Hospital on September 1, 2014 at the age of 57. Gilbert was born in Washington, D.C. on July 23, 1957, the son of Edward H. and Edna M. ( nee Gilbert ) Terry. In 1966 the family moved to Plymouth where he attended Plymouth Public Schools graduating form Plymouth Salem High School in 1976. He attended Ferris State University where he earned a certificate in auto body repair, painting and refinishing in 1978. He worked for Fox Hills Chrysler-Plymouth here in Plymouth and also for Murray Lake Farm. Gilbert loved his family homestead, farming, researching genealogy, local history, antique automobiles and John Deere tractors. He loved trains, collecting model trains, working on layouts and researching local train history. Gilbert was an avid bee keeper, a member of the SEMBA society and taught beekeeping at the Tollgate Center. Gil was also a member of the Salem Historical Society and worked on barn restoration and historical presentations. Gilbert cherished his friends and family and he is survived by his siblings Mary Lynn ( George ) Smock, Edward H ( Ann ) Terry Jr. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Terri Lynn, George Allen and Mary Cara Smock, Ted and Ellie Terry and Erin Lee Steubben. His sister Carol Ann Terry preceded him in death. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 1 pm until 5 pm at Murray Lake, 7994 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor
