Geraldine Therese O’Connor of Plymouth, passed away on August 21st at the age of 80. Geraldine was born on February 2, 1937 to her parents Joseph and Aurore (nee Chevalier) Bechard in Windsor, Ontario.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Michael O’Connor; devoted mother of Margaret (John) Marr, Kevin (Cheryl), Kathleen Bock, Aimee (Larry) Bird and Therese (Dale) Boulware; proud Grandmother of Michael and Andrew Bird, Louis, Natalie and Ashton Marr, Rory and Maureen Bock, and Betty and George Boulware. She will be greatly missed by her three sisters, Joan (Paul) Gardy, Suzette Swartz and Mary Anne (Michael) Bien and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Geraldine was a Registered Nurse whose career spanned 50+years. Becoming a nurse is one of the most selfless acts a person can undertake and she dedicated herself to helping others, demonstrating professionalism and delivering kindness on a daily basis. Nurses are there when life begins and when life ends and she was there to be professional, loving, and compassionate to all the lives she touched both on and off the job. Geraldine is deeply loved, well respected and will be greatly missed by many.
Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Thursday, August 24th for a Memorial Gathering from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There will be a Rosary said at 7:00 PM. A memorial will be held on at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 25th at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 North Territorial Road, Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army or Angela Hospice.
