Geraldine (Gerry) Gail MacArthur of Plymouth died August 11, 2018 at the age of 78. She was born in Detroit on October 12, 1939 to Richard and Patricia (nee Mackinnon) Glynn. Gerry is survived by her three sons, Michael (Margo) Kucsera, Timothy (Leah) MacArthur, Daniel MacArthur, her much loved grandchildren Aileen, Ross, Ronan, Roarke, Josephine, her sisters Josephine (JoAnne), Valerie, brother James (Jim) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, brother Thomas and beloved husband Theodore MacArthur.
Gerry was a graduate of St. Cecelia’s High School in Detroit. She retired from the Livonia Public School System as an Executive Administrative Assistant. Gerry was a proud grandmother who loved time spent with her grandchildren. She especially loved walking her dogs Holly and Chloe, getting together for family outings, reunions and dancing. Gerry was a strong, loyal, generous, fun-loving, caring and selfless woman who will be missed by the many family and friends whose life she enriched.
Visitation for Gerry will be held on August 23rd from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer and Sharing Time at 7:00 pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street Plymouth, MI 48170.
A funeral mass will be held Friday August 24th 12:30 pm at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Road, Livonia, MI 48154. In-state will be at 12:00 noon. A gathering will be held on August 24th at the Knights of Columbus, 19801 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI 48152 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm to celebrate Gerry’s life.
A family burial service will be held on Saturday August 25th 11:00 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 25800 W 10 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48033.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Greater Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Road – Suite 100, Southfield, MI 48033-7443.
