Geraldine B. Forbing

Geraldine B. Forbing, age 89 of Plymouth passed away on June 24, 2024. She was born in Plymouth, Michigan on April 10, 1935 to her parents, the late Frances (née Keating) and Brodie Ormand Card.

She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Ernest Albert Forbing; loving mother of eleven children – JereLynne (Charlie) Oliwek, Connie (Ken) Hines, Ernest (Diana) Forbing, Jr., Toni (Jim) Strange, Cyndi Forbing, Tina (Brian) Anderson, Jodi (Chuck) Villeneuve, Teri (Kevin) Robertson, Matthew Forbing, Kristen (Mike) Schlott; proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her daughter, Lori McIntosh.

She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings Marilyn (the late Paul) Byrnes, Joe (Carol) Zwick and Janice (the late John) Tutaj.

Geraldine was a resident on Maxwell Street in Plymouth for 55 years. She was employed in the cosmetic industry as a very successful “Avon Lady”. Geraldine sold cosmetics, skin care products, perfume and personal care items. She loved her job and loved making new friends with her Avon customers.

She was also employed for many years at the "Cap-n-Cork" Party Store in Plymouth.

One of her favorite pastimes was bowling. She loved the atmosphere of the bowling alley and looked forward to some friendly banter with family and friends.

Another one of her favorite pastimes was watching Hallmark Movies on TV. No matter what the storyline would be, Geraldine allowed herself to escape for a couple of hours and immerse herself into a story that included characters always being kind to each other. Hallmark movies are family-friendly and inspirational. Perhaps the optimism of each movie plot created the attraction and enjoyment for Geraldine.

Geraldine loved getting together with longtime friends – especially her high school friends that she kept in touch with over the years. She could always make time to reconnect with them. Her friends were an ongoing source of inspiration to her as she was to them. Much fun and laughter were always part of the times together with high school friends while reminiscing about shared experiences and enjoyable recollection of their happy memories and events.
