Geraldine Ann Hawley passed away at Angela Hospice on January 22, 2016 at the age of 71. Geraldine was born June 14, 1944 in Detroit to William J. and Helen ( Roberts ) Ripper. She finished her education in Detroit graduating from Cody High School. After graduation she continued her education by taking classes to become a medical assistant. Over the years she worked in this capacity and for awhile also worked in jewelry sales. When she was 14 she met her future husband, Richard Hawley and they married on February 8, 1964. The couple made their first residence in Detroit, then moved to Garden City and for the past 35 years in Plymouth Township. Geraldine loved to shop and gather with her sister and friends from grade school for a weekly lunch. But the most important factor in her life was her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband and children Rick ( Wendy ), Craig and Jeff ( Amy ) Hawley. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren, Rick, Nick, Olivia, Savannah, Craig, Josh, Sullivan and Ellie. She also leaves brother William ( Carol ) Ripper and sister Nancy ( Ron ) Rodger along with many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.
Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Sunday from 3 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1:30 pm.
