Gerald Alvin Spooner, age 73 passed away on June 25th, 2017.
Gerald was born in Detroit. He grew up in Highland Park where he attended Liberty Elementary School and Highland Park High School.
He continued his education becoming a Mechanical HVAC Contractor until 2002, when he was employed by the City of Livonia as a Mechanical Inspector retiring in 2009. Gerald and his family were residents of Canton since 1972 and attended St. Michael Lutheran Church. Gerald and Nancy enjoyed their time together travelling – especially their trips to England, Hawaii, and Tennessee, as well as spending time at their “camping house” on Lake Leelanau.
Gerald loved classic cars – owning, loving and maintaining them – especially his Corvette and Mustang. He was a proud owner and received much joy just in detailing and washing his cars.
Not only did he enjoy his classic cars, but also watching Detroit Tigers and Red Wings games too.
Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy. He is the loving and devoted father of Darrin (Lisa) Spooner, Michelle (Andy) Price and Cynthia (Matthew) DeWolfe. Proud grandfather of Caitlin and Ryan Spooner, Ashley and Marissa Jorgensen, Brittney Berkey, Andrew Price and Hailey, Connor and Joshua DeWolfe; Dearest brother of Norma (Richard) Stremick and the late Marie Hickerson.
