George-Ann Golem

April 2, 1939 — August 7, 2014

Passed away at Crystal Creek Manor in Canton on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the age of 75. George-Ann was born in Painsville, Ohio on April 2, 1939 the daughter of George T. and Frances L. ( nee Sage ) Bauer. She earned her B.A. in journalism at Michigan State University and later her Masters in Learning Disabilities from Madonna University. She taught in the Plymouth Public Schools and later with the Livonia Public Schools from which she retired. She married her husband Donald on News Years Eve, 1960 . Donald passed away in 2009. During the years of their marriage they loved to travel, covering great areas of Europe including Norway and Russia down to Greece. Cruising was also an enjoyment for them, one time voyaging on the Queen Elizabeth II. George-Ann was an avid reader and was a member of many book clubs. The Detroit Tigers were special to her for that meant it was summer. She also enjoyed gardening and was a member of Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church in Livonia. She is survived by her children Scott, Patrick and Robert ( Sinda ) Golem. Four grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, Mary and Jenni along with her siblings Mary Sawyer and David ( Susan ) Bauer also survive along with nieces and nephews Suzanne ( Blaine ) Black, Sarah Wrenn and Michal Bauer. Visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 am. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth.
